  1. What type of clothing should I bring?

India's climate varies from tropical monsoon in the south to temperate in the north. The best time to visit India is from October to March. During this time the temperature can vary between 10ºC to 28ºC in the North. Keep your luggage weight down to a minimum. For most restaurants and hotels, basic casual dress is acceptable, with smart casual attire appropriate for more upscale establishments. When choosing your clothing, remember it is best to have layers, each of which can be removed quickly and with ease. This is just a guideline, and you should use your own judgment and experience in packing. Laundry is available at hotels. In mosques, you will be required to remove your shoes. You may wish to bring an extra pair of socks for these occasions.

  2. What are the accommodations like?

We stay in comfortable, well appointed four and five-star hotels, all with private facilities.

  3. Can you accommodate special diets?

This truly grand 27 day India tour is packed with once -in-a lifetime experiences covering both North and South India . Witness the contrasts of New and Old Delhi and the wondrous Taj Mahal, Palaces & Forts of Rajasthan, ride on boats, and elephant, a camel and a stream train, stay in a heritage hotel, safari amidst holy shrines...

  4. What is the mode of travel within the destination?

We travel in comfortable, private air-conditioned vehicles. The type of vehicle will depend on the group size.

  5. Do I need a visa?

You will need a visa for India. As visas take several days to process, make your application early; we generally recommend 3 months prior to your trip.

  6. Do I need insurance? What type of coverage should I have?

We strongly recommend that you purchase insurance to cover both cancellation and out-of-province medical emergencies.

World Wide Adventures India India is not responsible for the loss or theft of any personal articles such as cameras, binoculars or other valuables while you are on tour. Therefore, we strongly urge you to check your household or personal insurance policies to ensure that all the valuable articles you may take with you are insured to the level of your personal requirements.

  7. Are any vaccinations required?
For entry into India, there are no required inoculations. However, it is a good idea to ensure that your tetanus, diphtheria and polio booster is up-to-date and precautions against typhoid, hepatitis A, and malaria are recommended. Cholera is officially no longer considered necessary unless an outbreak has been reported in the area you may be travelling. You should check with your doctor or medical centre for current medical recommendations for
travel to India.

We strongly advise you to bring sufficient medication to last for a few days after the scheduled end of your trip. Consult your doctor before departing so that he/she knows the conditions under which you will be taking medication.
Advise us of any side effects of any medication you take and any of the dietary requirements related to taking them.

  8. Is tipping included?
Gratuities are not included in the cost of this tour and are at your discretion. Tipping is fairly widespread in India and a little "baksheesh" is usually expected for services.

The custom is generally if [+ you want something you tip; if you don't tip, you still get it, it just takes longer! In most restaurants it is about 10-15%, while porters may expect US$1-2 per bag.

 9. Can I use credit or debit cards in the destination? Should I bring travellers' cheques?

The major credit cards are widely accepted. ATMs are available in the largercentres.

If you bring traveller's cheques, we suggest that you bring smalldenominations to avoid cashing problems. Keep a separate record of your cheque numbers, to assist with quick replacement should you lose them.Travellers cheques may generally be changed at your hotels.

  10. What about photography?

Indian authorities request that you do not photograph bridges, airports, railway stations or anything that has military importance. We ask you to show respect and courtesy in photographing people. If you are purchasing new equipment or accessories for this trip, we encourage you to become familiar with their operation prior to leaving. It is rather frustrating to miss some terrific photo ops because the camera is not performing as expected. We suggest you bring plastic bags to protect your camera, lens, and gear from moisture. If you have a spare camera body, bring it along. It will be useful as a back up in case of a malfunction of your main camera. You should also take spare camera batteries (the most common cause of camera malfunction while on tour). Don't forget your recharger for digital cameras and camcorders, and lots of memory.
